Our History and Philosophy
Aaron W. Johnson founded Johnson School Bus Service in August 1942 when he converted a milk truck and two logging trucks into West Bend's first school buses. Today we have eleven terminal locations serving 14 school districts in southeastern Wisconsin. A total of 500 part-time and 50 full-time employees operate and maintain a fleet of 500 vehicles!
Now in its third generation of family leadership, Johnson Bus is one of the largest family owned and operated school bus companies in the State of Wisconsin.
We take great pride in transporting children to a higher education. A job that cannot be accomplished without our valued family of drivers.
Our goal is to provide the safest, most efficient service possible for our customers. We must satisfy not only the interests of school officials but those of parents and riders as well. At stake is the well-being of the students entrusted to our care, financial investment of the terminal and equipment, as well as the prosperity of our employees.
The key to our longevity and success is in forming a partnership with the schools and parents we serve, providing expert assistance and helping them make the difficult decisions that face educational systems today. This is accomplished by providing trained, responsive staff, well-maintained equipment, and underscoring our belief in the motto that Safety Is No Accident.
We look forward to a future of continued success and growth in southeastern Wisconsin!
